Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has experienced a recent drop in pages indexed by Google (correlating with the feared-by-some 4/21 date and rollout). Never seen or experienced this previously and have no or very few possible duplicate pages unless such criteria was modified or other criteria was amped up. Consequently traffic and page views have declined by roughly the same amount (about 15% thus far). Thin pages are always an option, I suppose, though we do not have that quantity.

Not sure how to trace possible causes and so was looking to see if anyone had experienced this recently. I am not obsessed with quantity in terms of pages, and more with quality (the combination is ideal of course), but wonder if a new factor was added along with the mobile penalty (we are not mobile-friendly yet).

Noticed a huge spike in the crawl before the indexed page count was reduced on two separate days. The help I have seen offered does not provide great clues and do not think we have been hacked (though will have to do an exhaustive dupe content test for those who might have taken that route -- shame the onus is on us to have to guard against teens in the far reaches of the globe who can dupe websites on a whim and induce damage).

Thank you

I assume you have checked to make sure a mistake didn't happen on your robots.txt file?
