new mobile pages not immediately rated "mobile friendly"?

I have a mobile friendly site, and I added a completely new page recently, and I noticed that it ranks higher on the desktop search than on the mobile search, and it also does not have the tag "Mobile friendly" despite it passing the "mobile friendly" test on google.

Other results for the search query have that tag, which is why I believe its ranking lower in the mobile search

So I am guessing that new pages do not start out with the "mobile friendly" tag but rather have it added later? is that a correct observation? how long would it take for the tag to be added?

I will keep watching that page in the mobile search results and will update here if the tag gets added

I believe on a desktop search, the "mobile friendly" tag does not appear.

Attempting to equate mobile results to desktop results might be futile for a bit. Common sense indicates that because a site ranks high on desktop does not mean it will have the same position on the mobile serps. That may change over time, but not now.

Here is what I'm saying:

1) I have a mobile-friendly site
2) All pages in the site appear with "mobile-friendly" tag in mobile search
3) I create a completely new page in that site. That page passes the mobile friendly test of google
4) The new page starts showing up in mobile search results. However, it does NOT have the mobile-friendly tag
5) Mobile friendly tag should get added after some time?

The page will be properly tagged once the mobile/Smartphone version of Googlebot crawls the page. It can be slow to crawl internal pages, so it might be some time before this happens.
