Hi All,

I did a few searches yesterday using a laptop with a tethered connection whilst using www.google.com.au from Melbourne, Australia.

When I did the search the results I got back had something different about them.

I got it on one search and was able to take a screenshot. Haven't been able to replicate it since. I couldn't however attach the picture to this post.
(perhaps an admin member can help me with that?)

I saw the top 3 results with the format as follows:

search query that I entered - keyword1 keyword2 keyword3 keyword4 keyword5 keyword6 keyword7

title tag
URL
description line 1
description line 1
Missing: <strikethrough> keyword4 </strikethrough>

title tag
URL
description line 1
description line 1
Missing: <strikethrough> keyword4 </strikethrough>

My question, has anyone seen anything like this before?

Thanks :)

Yea, that has been around for a couple years.

See it all the time.

My interpretation is that it's the mysterious "authority" kicking in which causes a page that is lacking one of the keywords for which I am searching to rank above a site that has ALL the particular keywords for which I am searching.

Is it possible they've started doing it more often just lately? I too never noticed it until quite recently [webmasterworld.com].

Interesting....I think @Lucy24 might be onto something if it has become more prevalent?
