Googlebot Now Supporting TLS 1.2

Google has said it's now supporting TLS v1.2, in addition to earlier versions. Google also recommends using the latest TLS for added data security and integrity.

Googlebot now supports TLS version 1.2, in addition to previous versions: TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and SSLv3.Googlebot Now Supporting TLS 1.2 and SSLv3 [plus.google.com]

Necessary, what could be more necessary? ;)

Back OT, Google have always been pretty good at pushing security and good practice. It's usually beneficial to them also, mind you.

They were quite helpful on pushing If-Modified-Since when it was rarely used, which obviously helps when you've got lots of things to crawl.
