Hello everyone,

I'm out of games by a while.
I ran succesfully some websites many years ago, that got hundreds of daily visits from the google serps.
After a long stop, I decided to run a new website started two years ago, but even if it has good pages, with interesting content and many many external links, I just get only few daily visits...
No way to get more...
So, I think I need some updates.
Please, enlight me about what in google algos is changed, and about the new seo proper strategy to get google "sympathy".

PS It is NOT a commercial web site; just something about my hobbies and passions...

Thanks to everyone

Good content is already present.
People would love it and share with their friends...if they would be able to find it!

Onpage factors like keyword density, or good quality inbound links are no more considered...so, how to promote proprerly your web site, according to G?

@specter - first, you should be a big brand, next post some thin content, millions of pages of it. Mom & Pop sites are dying by the day.

Having a site that has never had traffic at least gives you a fighting chance at perspective.

Netmeg frequently quotes SugarRae, to the effect that Google has no interest making a site popular. It wants to send it's users to sites that are ALREADY popular.

Ergo, to get Google traffic, first you must seek non-Google traffic.

For hobbyist sites, a good suggestion is to get active in the community. Get yourself some rep in fora, and see if you can get away with an in-post, non-sig link drop. You may very well find it works, as long as the mods value your input*. People will follow it if you are already seen as authoritative.

You say you have inbound links- where are they from, and how much traffic do they generate.

*Best not to try it here though

Google might need some Analytics data about your site. Specifically user data.
Try flipping on Adwords for a brief period to feed them some data.
Make sure you have some goals set in your Analytics account before doing this.
