What's the delay between appearing in web search and image search?

My Google-Fu is weak today (or my caffeine numbers are low) but is there any yardstick for how long it takes between a photo gallery page appearing in the web search and its image appearing in the image search?

Ultimately it's going to depend on the popularity of your site with G.
Web index is definitely faster for me though.

I'm heavily image based and there is absolutely no yardstick for popular images these days, it's very hit and miss plus some of the images I see listed for my widgets defy all sense.
Exclusive/unique images can appear rapidly, I've had some appearing within 2/3 days but that's not diffcult when they're unique.
What makes me laugh is when searching for unique images and seeing the whacky results G gives!
Why display totally incorrect/inaccurate stuff? Do they do it just to fill the page?
