How important is Xhtml/Css validation?

I have new coming wordpress website having about more than 100 XHTML validation errors in each page. Is there weight-age of Xhtml/Css validation in Google SEO?

Hi Sam222 Validation is more about good practice than ranking advantage. Google have said many times it does not play a part in rankings, but its still a good idea to validate code. Here's a link on Google's view.

You don't really have 100 errors. You have either

a single error near the beginning of the page, causing everything else to throw an error

or

100 of the same typo, fixable with a single global replace

I have seen plenty of HTML documents with 100 or more legitimate errors but lucy24 is correct in that you should work out the errors from the top down.
