Google Algorithm is having fun (visits keep going up and down)

Hi all,
the day 10 July 2014 the number of visits to my web site (which is 3 years old) has dropped considerably. I have been searching around and I was pretty sure it was hit by the Penguin update. My web site, for a few keywords, was pushed back from the 1st page, to the 5th or even 9th page.

I was sure I didn't have any chance to recover, but suddenly, few days ago, everything went back to normal: visits and rankings. I was happy then. But again, a couple of days ago, google decided to penalize me again: same drop as the 10th of July.

Anyone got a clue of what is happening?

I’ll speculate that you are seeing..

An algo rollout...penalty
Then a rollback...recovery
And then another rollout...penalty

why a rollback?

Perhaps they are testing...
Perhaps they rollback to add/remove something...
Perhaps they do it for fun :)

Sorry, but I don’t know, I’m speculating...
Only Google can answer this question, but I don’t think they ever will.
