Hello everyone

My mother runs a recipe blog about Indian food and she has published many recipes in HINDI.

Since very few people searches in Hindi on Google, I am thinking of translating all Hindi Text to English...

I was wondering can I post both English and Hindi texts on a same webpage (WordPress blog post/page in my case)? Do you recommend this? OR should I create a separate sub-directory/sub-domain for English text?

Suggestions from your side are highly appreciated :)

Thanks :)

Depends on where the site is hosted and where ( and in what language ) the incoming links are from..

Normally, separate sub-folders* ( one each ) per language are better than multi lingual pages..Even better is one domain per language, but for some that can be difficult / expensive to do..

As someone who cooks a lot of Indian food, I'd be a visitor :)

* That is subfolders..such as example.com/en and example.com/hi ..and not sub-domains..you can use either, IME sub-folders works better..YMMV :)

One thing you might want to read up on is the proper use of the
<link rel=alternate" hreflang=..
metatag to prevent confusion about content that is duplicate other than language but separately targeted. Information at [support.google.com...] looks like it applies to this kind of arrangement and it could save you future problems.
