About 6 yars ago I mistakenly had an insecure redirect script in a page on my site which got hacked by p*#n sites. I caught this within a couple of days and removed the page with the script. I initially 404d the page but for the last 2 years it has been 410.

Google is still finding links to that non existing page from sites I don't even want to look at. The number of these shown in WMT had steadily dropped but has risen again now to about 6500.

Do I need to disavow these links although the pages linked to have been returning 410 for the last 2 years and 404 before that?

Couldn't hurt.

There are some that believe submitting a disavow file, especially a large or otherwise unusual one, might flag your site for a manual review.

There's no real way to prove, or disprove that.

Might be something to consider if you think a manual review would be problematic for the site.

Google's John Mueller is on record, on two separate occasions, saying that bad links to a 410 or 404 page won't hurt you. He was unusually clear on the point...nothing vague at all.

I was concerned about getting flagged, not that I have anything to hide.
