Big spike in crawl rate in a Panda affected site

Hello,
I was affected by first panda update, 6 months later we went out of the "penalty" and returned to our positions.
Whith Panda 4.0 we were affected positive, with increments of more than 35% of visits.

Now I'm seeing in the sites affected by Panda in the past really big spike in the crawl stats. More than 5x, up to one million pages a day.

I've speak with other people affected by Panda and they have spikes of 2x in the last 6 days.

Is a Panda update coming? Has anyone else found something similar?

I haven't heard any rumblings about a Panda refresh in the last couple of days, but they seem to be going out every 4 to 6 weeks so it wouldn't be out of the question.

After being hit and recovered from Panda 3X, and currently hit severely by the unannounced algorithm update that came November 19, 2012 (just before the November 21st Panda update), we also are seeing a recent spike in crawl stats. However, we've made a bunch of changes recently which included updating our sitemap, so it's possibly it's a coincidence on our end. And, yes, we've been hit for a year and a half already. I could use a bit of good news.

One of my sites was hard hit with crawling 2 days ago. Out out 4000 requested pages in 4 hours, none of those requests was for robots.txt which would have blocked at least a third of the crawl. Not very happy with that kind of activity. The site was not hit by any pandas so it may or may not be panda related.
