Hi,
I have some small static websites and I'm the only author there.

There are several ways of establishing Google-authorship and getting a pic in the serps. Is it right that using email verification is recommended because of several reasons:

1. Only name on pages
Without any linking it is sufficient to just place the name anywhere on the pages. This is very simple to do and has two further advantages:

2. Low probability of mistakes and technical problems
The easier and more simple, the less Google or the webmster can do wrong.

3. Independence and flexibility
Blog or a static website? It doesn't matter. Changes of webdesign or software also won't create problems. No Wordpress plugin needed.
You will always find a place for your name and things always should run smoothly.

Please agree or disagree.

Unvisible <link>-tag in the head would be my second choice.

Have you tried email authorship verification? If so, is your experience alongside the points you noted? It would be interested to know how you got on.

Before doing I have to clear two other things. For example if the email has to appear publicly at G+.

But in theory... are my thoughts wrong? It's sure that a byline like "by ...." or "author: ..." near the text is enough (after verification).
