It looks like Google has hit a number of Japanese link networks in the latest update information from Matt Cutts.

Incredibly proud of Japanese webspam team. Over last few months they've taken action on seven link networks! Makes playing field more level.Google Takes Down Seven Japanese Link Networks [twitter.com]

Following the takedowns across Europe and now Japan, does that mean the Philippines are next?

Looks like Matt is throwing a challenge at link buyers (and sellers). Let's see who wins. :)

China, Japan, Russia are like other planets in term of users and popular sites.
This is because they use different alphabet.

Does anyone use Google in those countries or is Google a second/third choice SE?

In Russia Yandex rulz.
I've visited Japan and I can tell you that very few people understand English.
What's more shocking is that they do not read the latin alphabet.
It was a nightmare to explain the destination to a taxi driver!
They could not even read the address!

So, the idea is that those link networks had effect on "another planet".

Thread title slightly misleading, I take it they weren't getting the desired results in Bing and scaled back? ;o)

I assume these networks advertised themselves.
