Fewer impressions, fewer clicks despite higher avg position? GWT

The top 100 keywords for which I receive traffic are reporting a change in GWT. The pages associated with the keywords are receiving 33% fewer impressions over the past week despite 95% of them climbing in rank. The CTR is also improved by 20% while the total clicks are down a little bit.

Is a high CTR from impressions suddenly more important than it has been in the past? According to GWT something changed in search recently.

I'd go with personalization myself -- You could easily show higher as an average position in the results, yet get fewer impressions through accurate personalization for Google's visitors. In that case, you could/would/should have a higher CTR assuming the personalization presented to visitors is "what visitors are actually looking for", rather than whatever Google showed before.

Not in my opinion -- Really, what I think about many of the recent posts you've made is you're "stuck in the SEO concepts of yesterday" while Google's algo moves forward once or twice a day on average.

Absolutely no offense intended, but I "deal with the reality of now, today." It's my job, and if presenting a "differing opinion" or "opening some eyes" [hopefully] about things things seems offensive, then I really wish I could be sorry about my opinon and possibly being "offensive", because those things are not my intent, but my opinion and view of things wrt Google's algo and how things are interpreted is based on the reality of today, and I do my best to present how I think things are today and how they will be tomorrow...
