Okay, I have to say this is the first time I've seen anything like this. I get a Google Alert just now for one of the "brands" that I am tracking. This particular Google Alert is interesting in that the brand is being mentioned in a Google Group somewhere. So, I visit the link and where do I end up? At a freakin' garbage page with ads at the top and a bottom full off crap. I mean, this Google Groups page has some major junk in its trunk. How does that happen? I guess Google Groups are open to this stuff too? Nah, that can't be...

Or has this been an ongoing battle for them? Its really the first time I've seen a Google Groups referenced like this in a Google Alert.

Quick update. Thank you to the anonymous source who saw this topic and alerted me to something similar happening in Google Notebooks. There are some 302s going on and I've not fully backtracked that whole thing. I'll leave that to Google.

WARNING - The links at Notebooks pages may or may not be safe. I surely wouldn't visit them unless you've got some protection. The Notebook pages "appear" to be safe, but not the links.

It's an ongoing battle, I'd say. I've had the same experience as you via Google Alerts a couple times in 2007.
