As per the Google's historical data patent, G will also be considering AGE of a domain as a ranking factor.

How would the age of a domain be calculated? If a domain is registered for 5 years and then left abandoned after 5 years and again somebody re-registers it after the 5 years expiry period. Will the age of domain be considred 5+year or will it be considered as a newbie domain by Google.

Also if the doamin was only parked, I belive google will calculate age of domain from the day after G first indexes this site.

I don't think they care about when it was registered, it's the amount of time that it has been continuously listed.

Google definately uses the data about a domain name and website over time.

They use everything from the first date indexed. Also, if you register a .com they know about it straight away and will try to index it. If it is a country tld then you are under the radar!

I stand corrected. Although I believe as far as good serps go, it's continous listing, not domain registration they care about.

You are right, just meant that if you now register a .com domain you will get indexed really quick because Google are a registrar and so visit the domain really quickly - so by default I suppose they know a lot about you!
