A never-used domain name may be causing cononical domain name problems.

Here's our situation:

Our company, "Corporation, Inc." is involved in many different lines of business. We use our name only for email addresses, and have never had a web site, although the IP resolves to the same IP as our web division "Website.com". Both domains use the same mail server.

I long ago set up a redirect in IIS so that any web requests for http://www.Corporation.com get permanently redirected to http://www.Website.com. I did this (wrongly, perhaps) in the hopes that it would avoid having listings for Corporation.com as we do allow the web server to respond to any host headers with the default site, the Website.com site.

Just today, I've noticed that there are listings for Corporation.com in Google. Even stranger, if you do a search for "link:corporation.com" at Google, it gives a list of pages which clearly have links only to Website.com. I checked many pages and searched within the cached source to verify this. None of them have any mention of Corporation, but Google seems to think that they're linking to Corporation.com.

I'm concerned that Google is becoming confused about the canonical URL for our site. This was part of the Big Daddy update, so that could be the cause. We do not want Corporation.com listed in Google at all. We also don't want to jeopardize the current SERPs for Website.com.

Anyone know what I should do? Am I in risk of screwing up my SERPs for Website.com?
