List order for site: operator results - how is it determined?

Given that Google is data driven, how does it determine which page to list first when responding to a site:mysite.com query?

I've looked at my sites [Site:mysite.com]listings and can't seem to find a logical listing process. It's not alphabetical, doesn't seem to be cache date order.

Any idea's? Come on Tedster, you must know ;-)
