Manual submit versus automatic submit?

I have always manually submitted to Google as I reckon Google watches urls which are automatically submitted a bit closer for spam etc and I dont want to risk penalties/banning.

Am I just being paraniod but I cant belive that they wont handle auto submissions (ie no verification code entered when submitting) the same as a manual submission?

Surely they must regard auto submits as more prone to spam and analyse them more. They ask for extra data on manual submissions and therefore must be using it?

Submitting a URL to search engines is a practise of the past. In modern world the best way to tell the spider that your site exists is by getting a few links from an established website with decent PageRank. Googlebot will see those links and automatically start crawling your site.

If this is your intention, then Google will spot problems with your pages independent if you submitted them automatically through the Add URL tool. It may take a few weeks longer, that's all.

This is a professional webmaster forum and don't expect members to be too eager to answer questions in detail of posters who's main or important goal is to spam the SERPs.

I would be grateful for anybody elses response to the specific question I asked.

(as an aside I know lots of members of this forum who use techniques such as cloaking etc which I consider to be high risk and my techniques are low risk if not white hat. I run hundreds of websitres over 5 years without a single penalty or ban)

Please just answer the question and we can always start another thread on ethical seo in a separate thread.

There is a giant rubbish bin on the other side of the submit link form. It seems to work fairly well.

I would not waste time auto submitting, make a google site map instead.
