How long does it take to get indexed well?

Okay, my second major (to be) site is launched last monday. I already have over 100 pages en Google has visited my site. For few keywords I'm on page 4 in the serp. But how long does G needs to get my site to the 'final' position? And when will my page rank grow?
It's not that I don't have the patience to wait, but I'm just curious how long Google and other se's needs.

Well, the first thing to get used to is that there is no "final" position -- instead the results show something Google calls "everflux" where positions shift around pretty commonly. And then, there are changes in the way the various factors in their algorithm are weighted. Plus the occasional update that changes something more radically in the way websites are ranked.

And even more, to be showing in any searches at all with a site this new is often a temporary thing. Do a search on the Google Sandbox effect and you will see that more often than not, new sites can become essentially invisible on key search terms, possibly after a short period of visibility. It can then take weeks, or more commonly months, until Google likes the signals surrounding your site to let it show in the key search results again.

Don't want to rain on your parade here -- sounds like you're doing OK. But I do want to give a reality check on what possibilities may await your site.

Heh, I think we are getting a lot of these "I have a new website up for a week why arn't I rich yet" type posts.

I think the answer is that patience is imperative when working on the net. Get used to it, it may take at least 6 months to see any real growth.

You're right, I have a new website, but as you can read in my first post, i'm just curious how long it'll take to get indexed well. Not that I want it to be indexed in two days..

2nd thing: I am patience. it's not that I want to get rich within the next six months... please! I didn't even mentioned anything like money..

I have a belief (superstition?) that with new sites, adding pages steadily in the first months gets decent SERP's faster than creating all pages at the start and then adding only a few pages for awhile.

Some of it is the "bump effect" of the new pages coming into the index steadily (new page gets decent SERP - even if briefly - and visitors click other links on your site) but it always seems to me that the steady addition of new pages seems to speed up the overall ranking of the site.
