We have so much to thank Google for

Who wants to be a wage slave, when you can fight for Google dollars?

Hey everybody,

I thought that it might be time to burn off a little steam with another theological debate over the pro's and con's of Google in our lives.

Personally I find Google's never ending search for the 'perfect' search results infuriating, but they are also at least partly responsible for some positive aspects of my life. I get to work from home, call myself 'Boss' and people generally find me interesting at parties when I impart some SEO titbit for them to try at home.

Anyone else got anything positive to say?

All the Best

Col :-)

Col-

I agree with you completely. Unfortutely, it's here today gone tomorrow. I still chose to wage slave by day; though, I don't have many concerns over salary, promotions, etc. I guess I am kind of just there for the social interaction. Thanks Google.

Ever since I developed intimate relationships with YPN and PayPal, my love-hate relationship with Google has really cooled off. There's a whole big internet out there that doesn't rely on Google traffic.

I know what you mean. But surely you see a greater return from Google than any other means of promotion. I definately see a better buck per hit ratio from other forms of online promotion, but the quantity of visitors from Google means that the rewards are much higher.

Over the past 6 years I've seen Google hits provide well over 60% of my visitors and although only around 3% of these make their way to my cash desk it still add up. I must admit that the best return per hit goes the Ask Jeeves, but unfortunately the quantity of traffic is relatively low.

The only money I made with the internet , is done with adwords and google seo.

So I thank them for that , still you never know the future with seo.. for your keywords. So I'd never spent my money big time because I know it could end just like that.

For someone who plans his business properly, Google is great. It is free traffic and free money. Sometimes Google does not do what one expects. But it is free. If you can't take the bad with the free good, just leave and those of us who are survivors will enjoy the free money.

So waste your time complaining. Others will fix their sites and laugh all the way to the bank with free money.

I like Google. Had a few hits in the SERPS last year so I am aware that Google search is unrelyable as a basis for a bussiness. No SEO can expect to survive all updates and algoritm switches. And in fact that is ok. When everybody stays number one in the SERPS forever in the end you need a longer screen to read all them.:-)
Google search gives free visitors and thank you Google for all of them. They are the cream on my coffee. The coffee I want to be able to pay from different sources of visitors.

Nearly forgot. I use Google for my searches as well. And I hate to admit, even when my main site went down the drain in the SERPS and I was running out of cream, Google was still the best searchengine.

So, enough affection. Back to work.

I thank Google for giving me the opportunity to make money from home.

I'm not thankful for Google having problems with indexing and ranking data correctly.
I'm starting to use other engines to find that "exact match", but I honestly still use Google the most.
