No pagerank - but 100 backlinks?

I have a problem with my site. I don't see any pagerank for my site, but when I try to enter "link:www.domain.com" I see about 100 backward links.

Also I get some traffic from Google, but it's not a lot - about 170 hits per month.

And only 4 pages from my site are indexed but I have rather more.

I've started this site in November 2005.

Please help me to understand what have happened with my site and what to do now to remove this penalty. As I understand I need to wait untill the next Google Update.

I would appreciate any help.

It sounds like the "Sandbox effect" on Google -- a combination of algo components that can delay a domain from showing up in key searches until Google sees enough signs of quality. We've got MANY threads on the topic -- you can browser the forum, or search the site on Google to find a huge list.

Here are some background threads about how this developed -- people talking about TrustRank, LocalRank, and topic-sensitive ranking.
