I know that something has happened on December 27th and have roamed the site trying to find information on what in fact it was.
I have been assuming that we got caught up in the Big Daddy update but we have not seen a drastic supplemental issue like so many others. I do believe we saw a lot of pages go supplemental but it didn't seem to last long.
Our site went from position #6 to the depths of Google hell 700+ at the end of December. Is this related to Big Daddy or are we going through something completely different? We still have not recovered and naturally thinking at this point we won't.
If anyone is going through the same:
- Drop in late December
- Cache updating then continually rolling back
- Number of pages indexed changing wildly
- Backlinks changing
Is this Big Daddy or something else? We are not a spam site so we are quite concerned. If anyone else went down around this time, have you recovered yet?
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Cheers,

I am very sorry if I posted in the wrong spot. :/
In my sector Google has cut off allinanchor intext and intitle to a large degree so much so that spam sites and 404's rank high in allinachor, text & title.
On march 8th my site returned for a few hours along with better serps and less redirects/spam/404's but serps returned back to the spam index soon after.
It effected the Big Daddy (and Non Big Daddy) indexes. Just as this adjustment on the 8th seems to have effected both.
>>>I think the next week or so will determine that.
With about 4/5 of the DCs showing Big Daddy I guess the roll out could be complete in a week or so :) - then it might be a case of hold on to your hats time - or a case of :o - is that it ;)
Thanks for responding..
What if your site partically went supplemental during this time but not drastically like most in the Big Daddy Supplemental Club?
I know we saw some of that a while back but we seemed to regain again quickly. Now all we see are the number of links change wildly from day to day. I just wish I knew if we were in the Big Daddy arena or if we are suffering something terribly different that isn't being worked on.
Our site actually suffered back in Feb/Mar 05 and then again May/Jun 05. Both of which times we returned in about 6 weeks. This time it's just dragging out so long we are losing hope.
Again, we don't do the hidden text crap, we are not a spam site... Why is Google hurting decent sites as well as spam sites! *sigh*

White hat sites are being replaced by scrapers, 404s, subdomain spam, redirects and countless other offenders.
Google is a mess right now. I can only hope that all of this is temporary and that once BigDaddy has propogated we will see a clean up of all this crap.
It definitely has nothing to do with Big Daddy. >>>
Well if that is true then Google just destroyed a sector on purpose with nonsensical sites that go aganist their own rules and guidelines.
The site has no supplemental problems or any discernible issues. The backlink count was greatly reduced, and now is climbing again. All the allinanchor: rankings died and so did the SERPS. This is a 10 year old domain with 100s of links from 1999 and before.
Yeah.. I have heard about the data refresh on MC's site but it kind of just leaves us hanging. They can just do a refresh and obliterate perfectly good old sites and that's that I guess.
I believe it was in January or Feb when the founders were on tv for an interview. Said their motto was something like "Do no harm.." Uh huh..
I still see no changes...
Caching moving forward then rolling back.
Number of pages indexed still changing wildly.
Allinanchor still gone.
Since Big Daddy is the only concern and the damage done by the data refresh is unimportant apparently, I have lost hope. 3 months is very damaging on a small business as I am sure you all know... :(

Both sites are technically very much the same, and I can't figure out why one had dropped out of the rankings. There's no spam, no keyword stuffing, etc.
I'm out of options now and my client is pissed.
