My site has been up since June 1 of 2005..I feel I have done a good job getting links exchanged, raising PR..etc..My site just celebrated its 9 month birthday and has a PR5 now with what linkpopularitycheck says is 113 link popularity (it only climbed 20 on the update!)..I am worried however. There are two keywords that my site triggers (Free Blue Widget and Blue Widget) and they are getting top 3 in yahoo/msn but still do not show up in Google..at first I knew it would take time but i thought I should see it indexed by 7-8 months..is it possible my site is being penalized? is there a way for me to check? even though my PR just went up 1 on the new update...What do you guys think how long should it take for my site to hit the SERPS..I see no optimization problems that should not have me in at the worst the top 10 of my 2 keyphrases..thanks in advance!

is it possible my site is being penalized?

Not a penalty, as such. It sounds like a Sandbox effect. With that, you'll often do well on kw's that you're not targetting, but the ones you really try for will be buried. As for how long it will last: there are lot of other people who would also like to know.
