I have noticed something quite strange in the last few weeks. I have 3 new websites (about 3 months old) and if I do a search for one of my URL's in the morning, Google shows that 60 pages are indexed. If I do the exact same search in the afternoon, say after about 4pm local time, Google shows me that about 300 pages are indexed.
This is consistent daily and has been happening for at least 3 weeks and happens for all 3 of my new websites, with a different number of pages showing for each site.
Any ideas why this is happening?
Thanks,
Damian
New index (from FEB-15 or so) from mid-afternoon to mid-morning, very old index (with very old PR) from mid-morning to mid-aft.
I made a ton of changes and removed a ton of pages in past 90 days or so, so I can see the difference instantly as the new vs old indexes and PR are radically different.
One would hope the new index will be integrated or replace whatever ancient index (BD?) is appearing for part of the day.
I can press F5 around 15 times during anytime of the day and it will swing between different results on the same DC...
I usually do around 10-15 searches in the morning, this would lead me to BD searches in the afternoon, and then the TTL of the DNS runs out overnight and I am back to non-BD results in the morning, until I perform a few searches and then get BD again...
dunno, just a theory ;-)
If this was the case though, it would mean that only frequent searchers are getting BD results - the odd 'one search a day' person will only really get the non-BD results.
Heres a test, try performing NO searches in the morning, and see if you get the afternoon results still..
