Hidden Keyword Spam seems to work

Top sites use hidden keywords

I'm not normally one to grumble, but the top three sites Google returns for my chosen search term all use masses of hidden keywords. No amount of reporting the issue seems to make any difference. I hope Google can eventually tweak things in favour of honest webmasters. Just felt I had to get that off my chest.

Keep reporting them. Google has a lot of stuff to go through, but eventually they'll get to it.

They do not care what is reported. I have reported a site almost a month ago, but it still appears on first page for a very expensive keyword!

It can take very much more than a month before you see them dissapear.

It will certainly take more than a month, especially now that Google is going through a major update.

Hidden text and doorway pages ranks among top 10 in non-English pages. At least this is the case in my native language. I know sites with tens of thousands of doorway pages ranking among top 10 in literally hundreds of keyphrases. And reporting to G is of no avail. G seems busy with other things!

Try keeping touch with Matt Cutt's blog over at Google. I have seen hidden text and doorway pages blogged about there recently... Often he will set up flag words to include in your spam complaint to flag certain complaints for certain issues. I have had several complaints get resolved in less than a month.

I wouldnt mind seeing some action on this also, there are many sites in my field that sit happily at the top and are full of stuffed pages. Some even go to the extent of buying up all the key-word-keword-morekeywords.com domains, filling them with duplicate content and linking back to the original site.

Google seems to be doing nothing about it.

It really depends. I have seen sites reported for hidden text go in days, while some have stayed in the index for years. I have also seen one site get banned for having hidden text and then was allowed back in with the hidden text still there.

I reported several times about sites with illegal keywords in their niche.

All the major sites in my niche are too major , using illegal tricks to stay high or get more traffic.. I know that i work about 10 hours a day on one off my sites and the major ones are laughing about their adsense statistics..
