Adding new pages reduces PR?

Can I get the PR back?

Hi,

I have a site with PR 5. A month ago, I added new pages to home page of my site. Now, the PR toolbar shows a PR 4. (reduced by 1 unit)

How can I get PR 5 back? Does internal navigation plays an important role? Or this is because of adding new pages to home page?

Adding new pages should help your PR, especially if they link back to the home page. What I think has happened is that in recent days there has been a toolbar PR update, the first in about four months or so. You probably had a "low 5" and with the new pages that have come into the index that now is re-calibrated to a "high 4".

re-calibrated

I've had the same thing happen to a couple of my sites. I actually have better rankings in the new SERPs.

Google is certainly re-calibrating as I now have more links than I did before, and instead have a PR3 instead of a 4.
