I have some information on google that I want to get removed. There are some articles with my name on it. When someone types my name, that comes up first. Is there a way for me to get this removed? thanks

motiv,

First of all Welcome to WebmasterWorld!

The crucial point here is if the articles are on a domain that you own, or on a domain from someone else. If the articles are on your domain, you can simply remove them from your site, or put the URLs in your robots.txt. When the Googlebot spider comes by, it will remove the articles from te index. If you want to speed up the process you can use the URL removal tool from Google (see [google.com...] ) which completes the work in a few days, but use this tool with care [webmasterworld.com].

If the articles are not under your control, you can ask the webmaster from the website where they are now to remove them. If you think there is a copyright violation you could also file a DMCA complaint with Google. More information on this procedure can be found at [google.com...]
