I'm still weeks away (i presume) from being fully indexed.. I'm curious though, once my site is fully (or partially) indexed and i'm ranking low in search results (say, number 9,000 or 90,000), should i expect ANY traffic? or will nobody even know i exist until i get closer to the top?

?

I suspect you'll see a small amount of traffic from Google (and others) but not for the search terms you are ranking so low for.

Traffic will trickle in, not from searches for "widgets" but maybe for "pale yellow widgets" or even "pail yellow widgets" (if you have a mispelling or two on your site).

I should add:

1. For non-competitive terms: you most likely won't get any significant traffic if you're on page 90.

2. Competitive terms: hard to be on 1st page just after getting out of the sandbox, get some legit. links & things will probably get better.
