Hi everyone! Quick question. I have an established website at www.domain.com (lots of incoming one-way links, ok PR). A few months ago I created a directory of related items to my site at: www.domain.com/items. Google and other search engines picked it up and I was getting quite a bit of search traffic as a result. About a week ago I decided (not quite sure why) I'd be better off moving www.domain.com/items to www.items.com and redirecting all traffic there with a 301. Item.com currently has no links to it (except from my original site) and probably won't for a while, if ever. I'm still getting some search related traffic but I think it's dropped off some. Was this move a mistake in terms of Google related traffic? Should I drop the domain and move everything back? I've read some of the posts on this subject but am still a little confused. Thanks in advance for any advice!
