Google Cache problem

I have a new site whose one of the inner pages had got cached on 7th Jan. 2006. After that no caching happened on that page. But since last 2 days, it shows "Sorry, no content found for this URL". I am constantly adding new contents as well as doing Link exchange for the inner pages too. The index page is not yet indexed. Please advise.

Evidently the cache is down. I had a panic a few minutes ago too. But all websites seem to have no cache right now. Thank goodness it's a technical problem...:-)

It was just one data center apparently. We had full access to the cache here from the first time some one reported it earlier today.

Being an aspiring webmaster and a newbie to the site, Could someone please explain how & where how to look at the cache.

Buster42,

Do a google search for any key word you'll find a link labeled Cache.

When the system is fully operational when you click that link you'll see what Google has for the content of the page.

You can also enter cache: as a search command.

The cache system has had several outages and has had several glitches.

In all these years I have never noticed the cache link on the results page.

Thanks also for the welcome. I never usually participate in forums. I find many other forums painful, the members argumentive, hostile and even unhelpful, which are all ironic. The quality of posts and replies here are excellent which make me feel comfortable to ask a "dumb question" and contribute when I feel I can. Brett and his team should be very proud of this fantastic resource they have created.

At the same time as losing the cache, I see a page which has been top 10 for about 3 years suddenly at about the 360 mark! Going to keep an eye on that search term.

I see that at least 66.249.93.104 has no cache at this moment.

Same problem here! My website has been #1 for near a year and suddenly it dropped #600 yesterday :'(((

Has anyone else appart from g1smd and me encountered the same problem? Hope it's solved asap because my strongest competitor is now #1 (and happy about it lol) :(

Sorry for having overlooked this thread, as I started a new post. Anyways the cache results are not available at many a datacenters.

Even i have observe a change in the positions in the SERP's for a few keywords, but not as drastic as the others have mentioned.

yep same here. just checked our site and no pages are cached, but a site: search shows that all our pages are still in there. panic over!

Same for me. When I spotted it four hours ago I thought I had lost my main toy in life. It is a relief to see that it is a Google problem. My files havent changed positions in the listings.

The Google cache is not working here for most domains. It is starting to get annoying!

Nope not in my sector (but then there is no relation between PR and traffic)

The cache seems to be working fine for me now.

Starting to see lots of problems - Google de caching many pages of my sites, and the pages have been no. 1 serp for years. Then when I check the datacenters, I find that many of them still have current caches.

The reason for the pages dropping on the serps is that those pages are decached and so other pages are being returned for those searches that are not as well optimized, and dont have specific links for that phrase.

Is is just that Google is having troubles as was mentioned for January? Or can there be issues on the site. The site has not been down, and the Google sitemaps system is not highlighting any issues.
