Sometime this weekend a single page from my site got dropped from Google's index. When I do a site: query the page does not even show. This page was the best performing page on my site bringing in about 65-75% of all my traffic so I'm feeling the pain right now. The page showed up in the top 10 results for almost all the targetted keywords on the page and now it's completely gone from the search results.

The only thing that I can think of that may have caused this was that my entire site went down for about 24 hours because of a DNS problem. Is it possible that Google might drop the page if they tried to index it during that downtime? If not, what else could cause this? I have not made any changes to that page for a long time (almost a year).

It happened to two of my pages and my site hasn't been down for about a year.

At least in the past the site being down wouldn't do it. At most the page would just lose it's title and snippet till the next crawl.
