Forum Moderators: Robert Charlton & goodroi
As this is my first post to this forum, I'd like to thank you all for all those great ideas all of you shared with me and guys like me. Seriously, thank you.
And, here comes my story:
I started a website (~2000 pages) in October 2005. Google picked me up pretty soon and indexed my main page as well as ~30 pages linked to from my main page.
Then, I checked site: results on 1 of January, 2006 and was very surprised to see 12000+ pages from my website indexed by Google.
Today, if I use site: results, I see same ~30 pages which were picked by Google when it first crawled my site.
Has anyone experienced the same situation? What could it mean?
Thank you!
20 days ago I began to use rewrite mod in my site, but I'm not so sure that it influenced the results, as all my competition also lost many pages in google today (and they used rewrite mod for many months).
Unfortunatelly I cannot give a rational solution to this problem. It seems to be kind of injustice ban, but I hope that google will notice the error it makes and soon the result will be normal. I'm waiting for other people's replies.
