My website requires that visitors have cookies turned on in order to view the requested page. I do this with a simple cookie-tester script at the top of every page. If they don't have cookies turned on, they go to a page that explains how and why they must turn them on.
My problem is: Google and Overture are using that cookie landing page as my homepage. Is there anyway to get the bots to "pretend" they have cookies enabled so they can access the content of my site and index it?
I appreciate the help!
Try setting up a sitemap for Google.
[google.com...]
This was specifically designed with sites using cookies and session IDs so it should help.
Based on Unix boxes so if you use windoze you'll need to google search for how to use it there.
