A sub page of my site shows first, then indented below it is a second entry for the home page.
Why isnt the home page showing first?

If your sub page is more relevant to the query than your homepage then this is likely to happen sometimes.

Or if the subpage has stronger backlinks. If you search for my name, you'll get first a subpage about one of my hobbies, DMOZ included, then a main page of my private website, edu-backlinked but not included in DMOZ.
