Toying with idea of doubling outbound links

Any ideas what will happen?

I'm toying with idea of doubling or even tripling my outbound links for a site I have, which will increase the number outbounds to about 70% of my current inbounds as measured on yahoo. The outbounds will be all tightly themed and point to what I believe are good resources for that particular keyword space. The site is a PR5 and is about 3 years old.

Does anyone have any ideas about the impact this will have for the site?

(ie will the site go up in the serps, go down in the serps or will there be little or no change?)

Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Outbounds to trusted sources, should be no problem and could in fact be good.

Outbounds to anybody willy nilly, be careful!
