hi friends,
my google page rank dropped from 4 to 0 suddenly within overnight, last night i saw PR 4 , to-day morning its 0.

But my website has been listed in google. i don't know the reason. My website is related to film news and getting updated each and every hour.

Assuming your SERPS are ok, forget about it.

It's probably caused by a minor error at one or two datacenters.

Can you give us the URL so that we can find the reason

The exact same thing happened with my site yesterday. But our serps are fine. If we'd been penalized we'd be out of the serps right?

Please don't. That's against our TOS here, and we don't need it anyway.

Kaled has given the reason above. It's the most likely explanation.

As suggested, as long as your SERPS are OK, forget about it.

The toolbar is unreliable.

Just to pinpoint that PR0 is also a penalty, Grey bar (not even PR0) is a removal from the index.
Sometimes google gives PR0 / no more backlinks to a site in order to penalize it, but keep it in its index.

i'd say its a penalty, just not on all data centres yet.

ok, can not send url, but perhaps sticky the person whose asked for it, doubtless they can help you

>>>Grey bar (not even PR0) is a removal from the index.

Grey bar is when the page is not in the index - I have seen a homepage go grey bar as just that page has been dropped from the index (while the rest of the site remains) - and then the home page gets listed again and PR returns.

PR0 could just be very low PR caused by crawling problems. (eg my theory that Google can not determine the root page)

With G having so many bugs at the moment it is hard to tell what is definetly a penalty and what is a bug.

I don't think there is a grey bar option anymore? All I see is a white bar or some Pagerank.

Mine has returned to it's normal level.

There has been a bit of a shuffle with backlinks I think... has PR changed at all for anyone?

mine has returned to normal too. I should not have cared that much about PR, because most of my traffic is from Yahoo. But I just set up a new site without much content last month. Google is the first one to pick it up and start to send visitor in 3 days.Without any PR, that site earns much more than PR4 site by YPN.

What you are talking about is happening to me. Over the past 24 hours I have reverted to old pr and back to new. It's now back to old but the directory still shows newest.
