Hi

Looking to buy a recently expired domain (within last 7 days) that shows some good backlinks on MSN and Yahoo.

I think I heard that Google delists and removes backlinks for expired domains, so I can't check backlink info for the domain on Google.

Question is, if I buy the domain and set up a site being careful to use the URLs shown on MSN / Yahoo, how long will Google take to start listing the site again and registering backlinks?

Some of the links are from PR4 and PR5 pages so I guess they'll be spidered regularly.

Really what I'm asking, is will it be a few weeks or many months?

Thanks for any guidance!

Unless you can get the providers of the links to remove them, and then add them again after your purchase, they are worse than useless.

Links which were there before the domain expired will never be counted (at least by Google), not now now ever

The expired domain that I bought is about to expire in 2-3 months' time and I am still not in G's index. Currently it is relying solely on Yahoo and MSN's traffic.

If you want Google rankings, don't buy an expired name. I add a new site using a fresh domain name at least once a month and every one of them gets indexed by G quickly, except for a few domains I bought after a drop at the beginning of this year. Man I wish I hadn't wasted my time on those names...
