Redesigned my site and added a lot of new content. Moved from www.other-site/my-site to www.my-site.com. After reading a lot I decided to use a Meta refresh, not a 301 redirect from my old site to the new site. I've deleted the old site, placed a meta refresh on it and put my new site online. I have no links from other sites to mine, but Google has found me pretty fast, I put my site online two days ago and now I'm in the index.
The problem is that I'm number 81 for my main two key words. And I worked so much to get to first or at least top ten position!
For now Google has indexed only my main page, and when I press to see the cache I get an error.
My question: Do I have a good chance to go up in the Serps after I have my whole site indexed and get a few links from other sites?
Could I be penalized because my old site is still in the Serps (even though I deleted it) and Google regards the new one as duplicate content?
Is there any hope left for me?...

Congratulations on that -- many people report waiting months and months for a new domain to appear. So I'd say you're off to a good start, and should just keep developing the site.

There's your answer. A site with no inbound links cetainly can't expect to be top-ranked (if it were that easy, the spammers would have put google out of business a long time ago, instead of just ruining the party for eveyone else ;-)
Unless of course everyone already ranking above you is also working either (a) harder, or (b) smarter in promoting those sites. In which case you simply have to work harder and smarter than they are. Good luck!
Not always, but it seems to be fairly predominant...
Which means if you have expectations of high google serps in a matter of days or weeks, you might be disappointed.
