Just spotted, perhaps a limited trial?

This is cool :)

A "Remove Result" option is now appearing below my Google search results. On clicking the link, the result is shrunk onto a yellow background with a link for more options. On selecting "More options", there is the choice of:

* For this search, remove this page
* For all searches, remove this page
* For all searches, remove all pages from hostname

I've wanted this sort of feature for years, because the same, zero added value sites keep coming up for the sort of queries I make all day long, and I quite often don't realise it's "that" site until it's too late. Excellent stuff.

I guess you have to be logged in to your Google Account for this to work, and even then it may be a randomly selected limited trail.

Sorry if this is old news...

You may be right, because I haven't seen it -- but I wouldn't "log in to my Google Account" either. Sounds cool.

More info here:
[google.com...]

Would be even better if there was another option to make it wildcard sub-domain based, i.e.
* For all searches, remove all pages from *.example.com
