I normally make changes to my homepage to keep things fresh, and Google normally visits daily with the resulting date in the "cache" being a day or two old. I just did a check and the cache is dated, September 15th. Is there any need for concern?

I would say no, if your traffic is there. Know that Google does strange things. Handling the massive amount of data that they do, what we may think are predictable patterns actually change quite frequently.

Thank you tedster for your knowledgeable reply.

Yes, the traffic is still the same. Yesterday in one of the SERPs, an old index page (named "index-1") I used over 6 months ago came up on one of the results. I have a "robot" file on the server telling the bots to ignore it, but it appeared anyway. From what I've been reading, this update appears to be a strange one. Would you recommend I move it to another dirctory, or just leave things as they are.

Thanks, Paul.

I wouldn't panic about any everflux changes even if a page vanishes it generally comes back soon enough.
