Hello

We were in the middle of an IP Address move and we had problems and our site was down for about 12 hours.

We now have no cache and no backlinks when i go to google to check my stats.

Is this temporary? Is this normal?

I've had that happen when my site was down. All the info came back just fine and the site didn't lose any ranking.

Wait one or two days. Your site will be fine again.

I've had this happen and my site came back, but even a year later it hasn't reached its full traffic levels.

I had this problem today. My hosting company made an upgrade and they didn't manage to make it smooth - I'm really annoyed with them and I start thinking about moving to own physical server, perhaps with separate IPs per site.

Affected sites still rank perfectly, but I know there was at least one Google freshbot when it returned 200 OK and empty page (I use SSI to execute cgi, to have .html extensions for dynamic pages, and on cgi error it returns 200 OK and SSI error message, I wish it were 500 error instead). I know that sites will be out of serps in two days, and hope they'll recover soon.

we had an undetected database error for a few hours a few months ago. For one day these errors have been displayed in Google. After that day everything was fine again.

I observed a funny thing. Some of my pages which are included in DMOZ have cache with SSI error from server misconfiguration time, but title and snippet are just taken from DMOZ so they are informative enough! That's another example how DMOZ helps you in Google. If this page hadn't DMOZ title and description, there would be worthless snippet with error message!
