I write this post because I need some help to understand the latest techniques of internal linking. First of all I know that a couple of months ago (maybe a year) it was still ok and even recommended to have a very high density of keywords in the IBL'S. Even in the internal links. But now it seems that having too much keywords presence in the IBL'S can trigger flags for over-optimization, and it is very logical.
What i'm wondering is the following. Does the problem comes from having the keywords in the anchor text or having the same anchor text everywhere( exact same copy) Let's say I have a page about sexy widgets, and I have 5 different anchor texts that all contain those two words in a small 4 words sentence, Im I still trying to game google?
check out those sexy widgets
sexy widgets are right here
we made a sexy widgets list for you
Is that kind of anchor text ok? ( please not they all have the keywords in it, but in a lesser density and they don't have the same exact copy.
Or should I go a step further and remove keywords from certain Internal IBL'S like
home
top of the page
just to put some regular anchor text in there?
Thanks for the advice!
