New domain pointing to current site

After reading about all these 301 redirects and other problems, I'm worried about my new domain having a negative impact on my current site.

I've had a .co.uk domain for about 6 years now, and the .com version has just become available so I went and bought it. I still want to use the .co.uk, but I want to direct .com at it aswell (to switch over to the .co.uk site).

What would be the best way to do this without getting any negative effect? I don't even care if the .com doesnt appear in the search engines. If I used a 301 but had a robots.txt to disallow all, would that work?
