I've developed the site which has an webmaster section offering visitors to enhance their sites with free tools from mine(javascript based).
I'd not say that I have many users (to date only 3),
but one of them really took advantage of this by putting
my tools on about 1000+ pages of his site with the same link
(nearly at the bottom of all pages):
powered by <a href=mysite.com>mysite.com</a>
1. How much value did a get from this compared to the single link?
2. Will google manually review this links(they are totally valid from the human point of view) instead of auto applying the ban to his/my site/links?
3. I believe google may have special checks for the following patterns near links: "powered by..." "provided by..." etc.. to treat this links differently. Is is possible?
