Changing host and system

I am moving my site from a GoLive version to a new host CMS. I want to use the same www – meaning all the pages I have in Google will turn up as missing. I am placed extremely well and I am not looking forward to what lies ahead. But I really need to turn to this new system…

What happens when all my URL’s turn up missing?
Can I do anything to soften my fall?

I know it might be fatal – but I really need to change systems.

Please be more clear. In theory if all pages are moving to new URLs, you should do a 301 redirect from all the old pages to the new ones. And ignoring search engines, without the 301 any external links to old pages will return an error to the surfer. Without 301s, expect a hard fall.

I'm not sure what you mean...if you are simply changing hosts, you shouldn't need to lose anything. GG once said to go live on your new server, leave both sites up till you see the spiders hitting your new server then take the other one down. Shouldn't be more than a few days and your old host should accomodate you on this.

I am changing to a Content Management System – meaning I cannot bring my old site with me. So I cannot take my old URL’s not can I make 301 redirects, because it is a CMS and therefore sealed area.

I know it can become somewhat of a disaster, that is why I am putting this question to you. Can I soften the fall?

Need help. Keeping my domain - the same name - but going fom a GoLive made site to a CMS shop. What kan I do to avoid a fall ind Google. The old URL's will sees to excist.... new URL's will come straight away, but will I be punished?

Can I take all the old URL's and place a 301 - and how is that done?
