301 redirect index.cfm combinations

Can anyone tell me that if i do a 301 redirect from www.widgets.com/index.cfm to www.widgets.com , will it redirect all combinations of,
www.widgets.com/index.cfm?838947238947238974389247238947234 for example back to www.widgets.com?

Failing that.. can anyone sticky my a url that has a 301 from their index back to the homepage?

I would really appreciate any help, thanks
