Google Link Lagging

Does a hiatus put you back at square one?

For those who believe that G does not immediately give credit for new IBL's, but phases in credit over time (or all at once, after some period of time passes), here's a question:

We've got a site that had a great IBL from a high value .gov site. The link vanished for reasons unknown, but the site reinstated the link when we noticed it was gone, and emailed them. Unfortunately, it was apparently gone for about four months before we noticed.

Are we now back at square one with that link as far as G is concerned, or will G recognize that it's a link that has (with a four month exception) been in place for several years?

good question.....deserves an answer, counter answer and then discussion on existence or not of the sandbox. I doubt someone will know for definate and if they did i wouldnt believe them.

One thing i do know is that link checkers are invaluable. Caveman, ive seen you posting left right and center, and sensible posts at that. i cant believe you got a luvely jubbly .gov link and didnt kiss it goodnight before bed each night, just to secure you some nice sleep :-)
