Today I have a big trouble...
Before I have an old site. But for certain reasons, it must be abolished in the next months. So I built a new site and submitted to google two weeks ago. My new site which has the same content with the old one, but not duplicated text absolutely. To my great surprise, the new site has not been listed on Google yet when I do a search [site:mydomain.com], which returns NOTHING.
I just don't know why. I haven't tried any sneaky, spammy tactics, the sitemap.xml file has been submitted OK, and I have added a few quality links. Yahoo, MSN has indexed my new site, but google...
Any suggestion are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

[edit reason] TOS #13. No URLS please, thanks. [/edit]
Then all of a sudden I noticed my site no longer appeared.
Didn't do anything sneaky as far as I know. No hidden text, no keyword spam, no stolen content. Baffled as to why I got banned?
I've contacted G about this, got an automated reply from help@google, then just replied to that reply asking again if my site could be reinstated.
What to do now? Just wait and pray?
I think those are 2 different things: 1) when the site used to be listed and than suddenly disapeared, and 2) when the site was never listed in the first place.
lookaa, I had the same problem as you: one of my sites never appeared in Google, no matter how many inbound links I got, so I had to drop that domain. It may be duplicate issue, like goodroi said.
Or, there may be a ban on that domain name for something that previous domain owner did. That was my case. If your domain was never owned by anybody else in the past, than it doesn't apply to you. But if it was, it sucks! Do a search on your domain in archive.org and see if it belonged to somebody and what used to be there.
For that reason it's bad to buy previously owned domains, I learnt it hard way. :(
