Is it continously but partial and not heavy, meaning, every day there`s a trace of Googlebot in your log, or periodically but almost full and heavy, like once a month. Google crawl my website heavily once every two weeks.

In my opinion, Googlebot visiting frequency of a page depends on PR, other inbound links-dependent factors and perhaps content updating frequency of this page.

I see G, Y and MSN crawling every day.
Its a rare day that any one of the major SEs doesn't pull in several pages.

Toolbar PR is 6 on main page, 5 on second level (menu) pages, and 5 or 4 on most others.

I think its PR driven.

All usual caveats apply, toolbar PR is one thing, REAL PR is top secret, as it should be.

An old theological discussion:

Prophet: "God works in mysterious ways."
Acolyte: "Why should that be so?"
Prophet: "To keep the sinners from gaming the system."
